The Location
Southern Cross is located in Boothbay Harbor, Maine directly on the shore of Appalachee Pond in the Appalachee Association. The small community of 34 homes was once a rusticator colony and has been a popular vacation spot since the early 1920's. The cottage is set amongst the pine trees and feels like you're out in the woods. It also features a community beach on the lake and a dock on the ocean/bay.
It's only about 2 miles to downtown Boothbay Harbor, many great restaurants, shops, galleries and numerous boat tours, such as Cap N'Fish Whale Watch.
We are within a half hour to Wiscasset, Damariscotta and Newcastle; within an hour to Rockland, Camden, Bath, Brunswick, Pemaquid Lighthouse and Pemaquid Beach; and just over an hour to Portland, Popham Beach and Reid State Park.
